MG Motor has been continuously testing the Hector 6 seater which now is rumoured to be badged as the 'Hector Plus'. While spy images have been doing the rounds of the Internet, we now bring you exclusive interior images of the Hector Plus revealing some information.
The test mule was covered in camouflage and the exterior details were also not fully visible. The Hector Plus will get tweaked headlight design with cross pattern chrome surrounds. The LED DRL design will be updated with a new pattern unlike the plain pattern in the Hector. The front will also sport a differently designed chrome grille with minor tweaks added to the bumper.
The side profile will still get the same 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels with squared-off wheel arches. The taillights have been sharpened up with a different pattern of LEDs and the bumper also gets faux skid plate with 2 exhaust ports. However, both of them are fake as the rear exhaust muffler hangs below the bumper.
The talking point is the interior which has seen the most changes. The variant we spotted is expected to be the Smart variant. It had both E-brake and a DCT transmission which also means it was the petrol DCT. Although the images contain some amount of reflection, we can confirm that the middle row will get 2 Captain seats with individual armrests whereas the third row will get seating for three. Another point to note is that even in the third row, we will get 2 adjustable headrests.

After having a closer look, we found that the dashboard and door armrests were finished in Oak Brown leather upholstery unlike the black leather in the Hector. The Brown upholstery is identical to the Tata Harrier's interior. One more key point to note is the absence of larger inverted dials with a 7.0-inch screen. The mule had 2 individual dials on the driver's console and it confirms that it was the Smart variant and not the top of the line Sharp. MG Hector Plus will also get a new blue colour which is not available with the Hector.

Coming to the engine options, The Hector Plus will carry over the engines from the Hector but in BS6 guise. Jeep-sourced 2.0 litre BS6 diesel will produce around 170 ps and 350 Nm of torque paired with a 6-speed Manual. The petrol variants will also produce the same amount of power at 143 ps and 250 Nm of torque. Hybrid petrol is paired with a 6-speed manual whereas the sole petrol can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT.
MG Motor will showcase the Hector Plus with other future products at the 2020 Auto Expo. The 6-seater Hector will compete with the likes of Tata Gravitas and 2020 Mahindra XUV 500. Thanks to Prabhjot Singh for sharing the pics with us!
