After the Yamaha E01 and the NEO's electric scooters' debut earlier this year, Yamaha is now all set to launch these new scooters in India soon. Likely to be launched in the country next year, the E01 and the NEO's will be the first Yamaha electric scooters in the Indian market. Having said this, here are all the details and information that we know so far.
Unlike the other electric two-wheeler brands in India, Yamaha will be targeting the mainstream EV space on a large scale. Having said this, the E01 will be positioned as a worthy rival to the standard 125 cc scooters in the country. The brand had earlier filed the trademark for the E01 in India. The E01 was first showcased at the 2019 Tokyo Motor show and impressed each one of us with its sporty profile and aggressive design. The scooter is expected to be offered in both-tone colour options. In addition to this, it also boasts features like a fully digital instrument console, Bluetooth connectivity, and keyless ignition. With a range of over 80 kms on a single charge, the E01 will be offered with three ride modes - Eco, Normal, and Power.

The Yamaha NEO's on the other hand is a lot more affordable and features a smaller, 2.5 kW electric motor (3.4 PS) that delivers 136 Nm in standard mode. The motor gets its juice from a 50.4V, 19.2 Ah Lithium-ion battery pack. The E01 however gets a bigger 11kW (15 bhp) motor. The Japanese bikemaker is however yet to announce the official launch timeline of the new electric scooters in India.
