KIA India has unveiled the latest iteration of the Sonet for the Indian market, featuring several changes in the features and design. Bookings for the facelift will commence from tomorrow and can be made either online or at the nearest KIA dealership. The bookings can be done by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000. Additionally, customers with a K-Code will get priority in the delivery schedule.

KIA Sonet Facelift
The recently revealed KIA Sonet facelift showcases KIA's distinctive tiger-nose grille with updated black surrounds, crown jewel LED headlamps, star Map LED DRL, star Map LED Connected Tail Lamps, stylish LED Fog Lamps (GTX+/X-Line), and ICE-Cube LED Fog Lamps (HTK+, HTX & HTX+). It also features sporty aerodynamic skid plates, R16 crystal-cut alloy wheels, and a body-colored rear spoiler, among various other exterior enhancements.
The interior now offers a choice of five color options, a dual-screen connected panel featuring a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Additional interior features include LED ambient lighting, front ventilated seats, a BOSE sound system, 4-way powered driver seats, a 360-camera, and an air purifier, among various other convenience features.
In terms of safety, the updated Sonet offers 15 standard safety features, including 6 airbags, ESP, VSM, ABS, brake assist, hill-start assist, and more. Additionally, the new Sonet introduces ADAS level 1 features, with 10 autonomous functions for enhanced safety.

KIA Sonet Powertrains
The new KIA Sonet offers a choice of three engines, comprising a 1.2-liter NA petrol engine, a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, and a 1.5-liter diesel engine. These engines can be paired with various transmissions, such as a 5-speed manual for the NA petrol engine, a 6-speed iMT & 7-speed DCT for the 1.0-liter turbo engine, and for the diesel, options include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed iMT, and an AT gearbox.
Verdict
The new KIA Sonet facelift is a substantial improvement from its predecessor, featuring more convenience and safety features that position it as a tough competitor in its segment. While the SUV's pricing has yet to be disclosed, keeping it competitive will help the brand to make the SUV more competitive in the sub-4-meter SUV category.
