Tata Motors has published another official video of its upcoming Tata Punch micro SUV, highlighting the 'absolute safety' traits. This mini SUV will be soon available in the upcoming weeks and for all we know, it could become another 5-star-rated model from Global NCAP.
The compact SUV will compete against Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Spresso and Mahindra KUV 100. Tata is getting safer with an upgrade in its technology and features. Models like Altroz and Nexon have scored 5-Star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash test. The upcoming Tata Punch is also claimed to offer a complete package of absolute safety for its customers.
Tata has not yet revealed its safety features but it is likely to come equipped with dual airbags, rear parking sensors, cornering stability control, ABS with EBD, seat belt pre-tensioners, seat belt reminders and speed alert system as standard features.
The teaser images revealed so far of the SUV could also be offered with the segment-first hill descent control and hill start assist. It might even offer segment-first traction modes Rock, Mud, Sand and Snow. Safety equipment such as rear parking camera, auto door lock and follow-me-home headlamps might be equipped in the higher trims
The all-new soon-to-be-launched Tata Punch micro SUV is expected to be powered with two petrol engine options - 1.2-litre naturally aspirated Revotron and 1.2L turbocharged unit. It will churn out a peak power of 85 bhp and 113 Nm of torque, the latter (which is borrowed from the Altroz) will produce 100 bhp. The carmaker might detune the turbo petrol motor for the Punch. It can be mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.

This upcoming micro SUV will be the most affordable and smallest SUV in the country. Tata has played a smart strategy to evolve more with its customers. Punch is expected to be launched at Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base trim and might go up to Rs 8 Lakhs (ex-showroom) for the higher trims.
Being a Tata product, Punch will sooner or later make its presence in the market. Tata Harrier, ALtroz, Nexon, Nexon EV has made Tata grow bigger and bigger in recent times, hoping Punch micro SUV also hits the sales chart regularly.
