As per ZigWheels, Renault is currently testing the upcoming version of the Triber, which will get a more powerful engine. The current 1.0-litre, three-cylinder engine of the Triber produces a maximum power of 72 PS and peak torque of 96 Nm. Renault will launch the updated version of the MPV that will be BS6 compliant. With the upgraded engine, Renault will introduce the Easy-R transmission that is available with the Kwid hatchback.

The Easy-R transmission is an AMT automatic transmission that is a 5-speed unit. Interestingly, Renault revealed that the fuel efficiency of the automatic Triber would be 0.5 km/l higher than the manual version. Currently, the manual version of the Triber returns a maximum of 20.5 km/l.

Renault will also launch a more powerful version of the Triber in the Indian market. The manufacturer will utilise a 1.0-litre turbocharged engine that is currently available with many Renault vehicles in the international markets. The three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine produces a maximum power of 100 PS and peak torque of 160 Nm. It will get a 5-speed manual transmission. However, Renault may also offer the X-Tronic CVT automatic transmission with the car. The same 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine will also power the future Renault models, including the HBC sub-4m compact SUV.

The Triber is a unique car since the last row seats can be removed completely from the vehicle to make more space. Also, the Triber offers modern features, including a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay system.
