Royal Enfield Classic 650 - What To Expect?
The spied-on test bike seems almost production-ready. As we know that road testing is the last phase in the development of a bike; this means the Classic 650 is nearing its launch. Meanwhile, the design of it'll be largely identical to the Classic 350. In fact, the spotted bike had a similar headlight cowl, the same retro front design with telescopic forks. It'll get spoke rims like the Classic 350 and the rear design will also get a similar LED round taillight with round turn indicators. Apart from it, the features list will probably be short as we expect a semi-digital instrument console & a USB socket for charging.
Other visible details include the chrome powertrain which is similar to the Interceptor 650. However, the chrome exhausts are new and they look different from the Super Meteor 650. Additionally, the hardware like rear suspension & brakes will possibly be carried forward from the SM650. The test bike was also seen using some accessories. It had the oval-shaped bar end mirrors while the engine had a black crash guard as well. RE will probably offer aesthetic-enhancing accessory packs for the Classic 650. The powertrain, meanwhile, will be shared with the other 650cc lineup. But, RE might re-tune the engine as per the weight & dimensional changes.
Verdict
The upcoming Classic 650 will bring a different appeal among its segment via its strong brand name & retro design. However, the company will launch the Himalayan 450 first; which is scheduled for September'23. We anticipate that the Classic 650 will debut by the first quarter of next year. It'll be priced just below the Super Meteor 650, as expected.
