RE Scrambler 650 Details
The first thing to notice is its unique styling. The Scrambler 650 looks like a flat-track racing bike. This means that RE is trying to discover new niches of the bike market globally. Additionally, it gets shared components from the other 650 twins. The front end of the bike is upright-set and the riding triangle is also a lookalike of the Interceptor 650. In a similar fashion, the round headlight & round indicators mean that it will have a retro-modern appeal as well. However, the rear end uses some Hunter 350 bike parts. These include the LED taillight and the chopped-off fender.
The unique 2-into-1 exhaust can is limited to the Scrambler bike. As RE has debuted it's Super Meteor 650 today at EICM; even though it does not get the two-in-one exhaust setup. However, it is the use of all-terrain Pirelli Scorpion SRT tyres which makes it more interesting. The overall appeal of the bike is rougher and thought. But, the riding triangle looks like it will be a fun bike to ride.
Speaking of the engine, it will get the same 648cc, parallel-twin engine. It makes a peak power of 47 bhp & 52 Nm of peak torque. However, RE will fiddle with the 6-speed gearbox to balance the Scrambler's power and riding style. It also gets front USD forks which are non-adjustable. However, the tyres offer spoked rims which shall mean these will be tube-type.
Verdict
The unfinished panels on the spied bike mean that there is still time for its debut. RE is concentrating on its Super Meteor 650 which has just debuted globally. It will be launched at the upcoming Rider Mania 2022 in India. Meanwhile, the Scrambler is expected to debut sometime next year. Maybe the Indian Auto Expo 2023 can witness its debut.
