Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 Details
The Scrambler 650 is based on the Interceptor 650 but with a short wheelbase. The overall compact size of the Scrambler will help in agile handling on soft trails. Moreover, the test bike has Himalayan 450-inspired features like the single-pod digital console and LED turn indicators. It'll get spoke rims with block-pattern tyres to enhance its off-road capabilities.
The test bike has a fuel tank similar to the Interceptor itself. Its engine components are blacked out for a rugged appeal. Also, the round LED taillight is similar to the Meteor 350. The engine will be the 648cc parallel-twin unit same as the 650 lineup. However, RE will re-tune this as per the dimensional and weight changes of the Scrambler platform.
Royal Enfield Classic 650 Details
A small glimpse of the Classic 650 test bike shows that it'll look similar to the Classic 350. Maintaining its old-school charm, the design aesthetics will largely be similar to both bikes. However, the bigger dimensions and twin-exhaust cans of the Classic 650 attract more attention. It'll also hold on to its retro design features like chrome engine plating, chrome exhaust cans, chrome spoke rims, and more.
In terms of features, the Classic 650 is expected to get a semi-digital console like the 350 sibling but with Bluetooth connectivity. Moreover, it shall get an LED headlight and an LED taillight. The powertrain will be the same 648cc parallel-twin engine as the rest of the lineup.
Price and Launch Dates
Both 650 models are scheduled to debut in 2024. The Scrambler 650 will be the first bike to debut somewhere near mid of this year. The Classic 650, however, will debut by the end of 2024. The estimated pricing of the Scrambler 650 is Rs 3 lakh while the Classic 650 might plunge Rs 3.30 lakh mark.
Verdict
Royal Enfield has serious plans to expand its 650cc lineup globally. The Scram 650 and Classic 650 are the initial products of this expansion strategy. Coming years will also get models like Himalayan 650 that will cater to a wider audience worldwide. Tell us in the comments about your thoughts on these upcoming models.
