Skoda is getting ready to reveal its first electric car, the Skoda Enyaq iV, at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Show in India. The show is set to take place from February 1 to February 3. Skoda Enyaq BEV - What We Know So Far?
The Skoda Enyaq iV has been seen undergoing tests multiple times on Indian roads, revealing its design and other details. In terms of appearance, the Enyaq iV follows Skoda's distinctive design language, featuring a closed front grille, a common trait among electric vehicles. Globally launched in 2022, the car is available in various variants in the international market, distinguished by differences in battery capacity.
In the Indian market, we anticipate the Enyaq iV to be offered in a single top-tier 80X variant, equipped with a 77 kWh battery pack. This model supports rapid charging, allowing for a 0-80% charge in 38 minutes at 125 kW DC. The variant boasts an impressive driving range of up to 580 km per charge, and the power output from this setup can reach a peak of 265 bhp.
Moreover, it will include a comprehensive set of features such as an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) drivetrain, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features, a 360-degree camera, a digital instrument cluster, an infotainment screen, and a panoramic sunroof, among other amenities.

Skoda Enyaq - Launch Timeline
The Skoda Enyaq is expected to be launched either later this year or by the end of the year. Initially, upon launch, it will be introduced in India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), but there are possibilities that Skoda might later consider bringing it as a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) unit. Currently, the brand has not provided any official confirmation regarding the launch or debut of the electric vehicle.
Verdict
The upcoming Skoda Enyaq is set to be the first electric vehicle from the VW group in the Indian market. It is anticipated to have a price range of Rs 50-60 lakh, placing it in competition with existing players like Hyundai Ioniq 5, KIA EV6, Volvo XC40 Recharge, and other electric vehicles within the same price range.
