The Tata Altroz is one of the safest cars in the market right now and offers a good looking exterior design and a feature-rich design. With rivals like the Hyundai i20 and the Maruti Baleno already in the market, the Altroz faces stiff competition in India. The brand had earlier introduced the turbo petrol variant of the Altroz that not only offered an improved driving experience but in addition to this, also offers commendable fuel economy figures. Having said this, the Indian carmaker recently confirmed the launch of the Altroz automatic variant in the market. Here are all the details that you would want to know about this premium hatchback.
Tata recently confirmed the launch of the automatic iteration of the Altroz on Twitter a couple of days back, thus sparking rumours about the launch soon. The new Altroz automatic will feature the same 1.2-L turbocharged petrol engine which is expected to come mated with a new DCT gearbox. This new iteration of the car will not only be practical for everyday use but in addition to this, will also offer an impressive driving experience for keen driving enthusiasts. The possibility of a diesel automatic variant however is still uncertain.

Currently, the Tata Altroz is offered with three engine options that include a 1.2-L NA petrol engine, a 1.5-L diesel engine, and a 1.2-L i-Turbo petrol engine. The 1.2-L NA petrol engine churns out a peak power and torque output of 85 hp and 113 Nm while the diesel motor delivers 88.77 hp and 200 Nm of maximum torque. The turbo engine on the other hand makes 108 hp of peak power. All these engines can only be had with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The upcoming automatic variant is expected to feature a turbo engine that may come mated to a DCT gearbox.
