Tata Altroz DCT To Be Launched On March 21 - All Details

Tata is all set to launch the Altroz DCT on March 21 and the deliveries for the premium hatchback will start soon after. The bookings of the Altroz DCT or DCA (dual-clutch automatic) as Tata likes to call it can be done for just Rs 21,000.

This dual-clutch automatic transmission is paired to the 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol motor. This engine produces as much as 85 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 113 Nm. The ARAI certified mileage for the 5-speed manual transmission sticks to 19.05 kmpl but the official mileage of the DCT is still unknown.

Tata Altroz DCT will be offered in XT, XZ, XZ+ along with the dark editions of the hatchback. The Indian carmaker will also bring a new Opel Blue shade once the car is launched in the market. This colour scheme resembles a lot like the Nexa Blue from Maruti.

Feature-wise, we can expect a larger touchscreen infotainment system for the top-spec variants of the Altroz. Similarly, other features like automatic climate control, push-button start/stop, cruise control, tilt-adjustable steering wheel with multi-function, rear AC vents and more.

Safety features on the Altroz stick to dual airbags at the front, a high-speed alert system, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, front seat belt reminder and more. Tata Altroz is the only hatchback in the segment to score a Global NCAP rating of 5 stars.

So this was all about the launch details of the Tata Altroz DCT. Will you pick this over the 1.2L Hyundai i20 CVT or 1.2L Maruti Baleno and Toyota Glanza AMT? Hyundai too offers a 7-speed DCT but that is paired with a more powerful, 1.0L turbo petrol engine. The DCT of the Altroz is paired to the naturally aspirated motor only to keep the pricing low.

If Tata were to bring the DCT with the 1.2L turbo petrol then the cost would have drastically risen from what it'll be now at the time of the launch.
