Tata Altroz

The Tata Altroz facelift spied was completely covered in camouflage from top to bottom, but the front bumper design was visible, which we believe will be entirely new. Additionally, the fog lamp has been repositioned lower, and the front panel now features a new air vent area below the fog lamp section. Moreover, the grille appears different, looking more straight compared to the curvier design of the current model.

From the side profile, nothing new was noticed, but the automaker will likely introduce a new set of alloy wheels, which explains the camouflage. Through the glass, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen is visible, the same as the one offered in the current models. Apart from this, Tata might introduce new interior upholstery or align the interior design with its larger models like the Harrier and Safari.

Talking about the engines on offer, they are expected to remain the same - a 1.2L Revotron petrol, a 1.2L turbocharged Revotron, a dual-CNG option, and a 1.5L Revotorq diesel engine. For normal city commutes and everyday driving, the regular naturally aspirated engine is a good choice, and it comes with both a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed DCA. If your priority is fuel efficiency, the CNG option is ideal, with a claimed mileage of 26.2 km/kg. Then there's the diesel engine, which is fantastic, as it is also offered in the Curvv and Nexon and has never received negative feedback from customers.
Lastly, if you want a fun-to-drive version of the Altroz, there's the Altroz Racer, which comes with a 1.2L turbo petrol engine producing 120 ps and 170 Nm of torque. It is exclusively available with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Verdict
The Altroz is the only car in its segment to offer a diesel engine, which makes it unique, and it also sells pretty well. It's more stable and has better handling than the i20 and Baleno, but it has inconsistent body panels throughout. Also, the glitches in the infotainment system are well known. If Tata solves these long-standing recurring issues, then the Altroz can climb to the top of the sales chart, as it has the potential.
