Tata Motors, the fast-growing homegrown carmaker, today handed over the keys of Altroz B2-segment hatchback to Indian Olympians who missed the podiums by a narrow margin in the recently conducted Tokyo Olympics. With this, the carmaker went on to reinstate that while the athletes couldnt bag a medal, theyve surely won the hearts of millions of India and even inspired them thru their commitment and great performance.

In a bid to recognise as well as congratulate the athletes, Tata Motors today handed over the keys of Altroz to 24 Olympians who participated in various categories, such as Track and Field, Wrestling, Boxing, Golf and Hockey. All these sportsmen have been gifted an Altroz in a High Street Gold paintwork.

Speaking on the handing over ceremony of the keys, Mr. Shailesh Chandra, President, Passenger Vehicle Business, Tata Motors, We are extremely proud of our athletes for the sheer commitment and the indomitable spirit they showed at the recently held Tokyo Olympics and it is my honour to share the same platform with them today. Resonating their spirit and acknowledging their hard work, we are ecstatic to present to them the Tata Altroz, the gold standard in premium hatchbacks. As they continue to inspire each one of us, we wish them all the very best for their future and are confident that in years to come, they will bring to our country success galore.

The Tata Altroz has been on sale in as many as three engine options - 2 petrol and diesel. The base petrol motor is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated unit that outputs 85 bhp and 113 Nm, while also on offer is a turbocharged version that produces 108 bhp and 140 Nm. The oil-burner displaces 1.5-litre and produces 89 bhp and 200 Nm. All the motors come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. There's no automatic option for any of the engine variants, but a DCT could be introduced on the petrol-turbo motor at a later stage.
