When the Altroz was showcased at the Geneva Motor Show, we are all amazed as to how Tata has managed to update its design games. When it was launched in 2020 and after our drive review, we were sure that it will be a revolutionary product in the premium hatchback. Just a few months down the line, Tata Altroz has become the 3rd best selling premium hatchback and here are its sales figures for October 2020.

As you can see above, the Tata Altroz bagged 6730 happy customers for October 2020 and the sales for the same is still going strong. To keep the Altroz updated, the Indian carmaker has introduced several features to the ongoing variants.

Like a few weeks ago, the XT variant was offered with automatic climate control as a standard feature. This gave a strong point for the XT variant make it the most value for money variant in the Altroz line-up. And just recently, Tata has introduced a new addition XM+ which is just Rs 30,000 expensive than the regular XM.
This new variant carries a 7.0-inch large floating touchscreen infotainment system and hosts modern connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You also get steering mounted controls, Voice alerts and Voice command as features.
Instead of the 14-inch wheels in the XM variant, this XM+ also gets R16 wheels with full wheel covers. Also, a remote foldable key. This XM+ variant will be available in four single tone colour options - Downtown Red, High Street Gold, Avenue White and Midtown Grey.

Tata Altroz is offered with both petrol and diesel engines. The 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol is a derivate of Tiago which makes as much as 86 PS with a peak torque of 113 Nm. There's also a diesel engine which is a derivative from the Nexon but tuned to make less power.
This unit churns out 90 PS of power and a peak torque of 200 Nm. Both the engines get mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. There are further reports that Tata might launch the turbo petrol engine of the Altroz to compete with the 2020 Hyundai i20 turbo.
The prices of Tata Altroz starts from Rs 5.44 lakh and go as high as Rs 9.09 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. What do you think about the Tata Altroz and will you pick the petrol or the diesel engine?
