Tata Curvv: Engine Details
The new Curvv Coupe offers a choice of three engine options. The first is a 1.2-liter Revotron petrol engine, delivering 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque. The second option is a 1.2-liter Hyperion tGDI turbo petrol engine, generating 123.2 bhp and 225 Nm of torque. Lastly, theres a 1.5-liter diesel engine that produces 116 bhp and 260 Nm of torque. Each engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
While it is the first Indian coupe SUV in the mass market segment, it only rivals Citroen Basalt directly in the segment. It also rivals the other compact SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and others.
Verdict
The Curvv is a far better option compared to the Citroen Basalt if tech is your main priority. It gets features that very few other models offers or comes close to. However, the Basalt breaks this barrier with its 2 lakh rupees lesser price point. Its fair to just give both the models some time to bask in this heat of a new segment rivalry and then look at how the scenario takes shape. However, Tata is expected to take the lead with a better package and the brand name legacy.
