Tata Motors has always been proactive in introducing special editions of its flagship SUVs, the Harrier and Safari. These two SUVs are already due for a mid-life facelift, which will most likely be introduced at the upcoming 2023 Auto Expo. But before that, the Indian carmaker has something new in store for its customers, most probably in the form of a new special edition. The spy images of Tata Harrier have surfaced online, where the SUV can be seen sporting a new interior theme and few changes to the exteriors, thus sparking the news of another special edition of the SUV. Tata Harrier New Special Edition Spotted: What's Different?
Going by the leaked images, Tata Harrier's interiors are draped in new upholstery finished in the shade of red. The seats, front armrest and door grab handles are the only three areas where this new theme is utilized. Apart from this, everything else seems quite identical to the Harrier Dark Edition. This brings us to the next point, this new upcoming iteration of the SUV is based on the already existing Dark Edition.
On the outside, the three major changes to the SUV include red brake callipers, a subtle red accent on the front grille, and a prominent special edition badging on the front fenders. Setting these changes aside, everything is identical to the Dark Edition.
Tata Harrier New Special Edition Spotted: Powertrain, Launch Timeline
As the case with every other special edition, this too will continue with the same set of powertrain options. Powering the SUV will be the 2.0-litre Kryotech diesel engine putting out 170 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque. The transmission choices on offer include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. As far as its launch is concerned, the SUV was spotted at a dealer yard, so we can expect a launch in the coming days.

Verdict: This new special edition from Tata Motors will be the fifth one for the Harrier. It can be attributed to the carmaker's attempt to clear its existing inventory, however, there can be some other possibilities as well. Generally, these special editions are intended to increase the range of choices for the customers along with giving a fresh breath of life to the existing model.
