Tata Nexon EV Dark Edition: What's Changed?
As the name suggests, the Dark Edition is a blacked-out version of the Nexon EV. The displayed model is draped in an all-black avatar with highlights like the front grille, alloy wheels, headlight cowls, etc., painted in gloss black. However, the connected LED DRLs and the LED headlights remain unchanged in this edition.
On the inside, it gets complete black leather upholstery along with features like an electric sunroof, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a two-spoke steering wheel with a digital logo, and other features similar to the standard top variants.
Battery Range, Price, and Launch Date
As it is only a dark variant, the powertrain is similar to the standard long-range version. It gets a 40.5kWh battery pack that generates a peak power of 143 bhp and 215 Nm of peak torque. This battery claims a certified range of 465 km on a single charge. However, the Nexon EV doesn't sit on the same Acti.EV platform as the Punch EV, and hence this range is reduced in the real world.
The launch date of the Dark Edition is unknown for now but it is expected to debut in the coming months. The pricing will only be a few thousand more than the top version of the Nexon EV. Its primary rival is the Mahindra XUV 400.
Verdict
The Nexon EV has proven to be a game changer for the company. With the new separate chain for EV showrooms, Tata plans to expand its EV portfolio and sales. Products like Nexon EV Dark Edition will help in attracting new customers and boost sales altogether.
