Tata Nexon Gets A New Price Hike, Variants Rejigged Again
  • Tata Motors has increased the prices of its Nexon SUV
  • Six variants of the SUV discontinued, six new variants added
  • The price of Tata Nexon now starts at Rs 7.69 lakh (ex-showroom)

The price of Tata Motors' top-selling SUV Tata Nexon has increased once again, and this time, the brand has also rejigged the SUV's models. All the variants have seen price increases of Rs 10,000 and some versions have seen price increases of Rs 18,000 each. Due to the price hike, the Nexon Petrol models' starting price is now Rs 7.69 lakh, and tgoes up to Rs 12.87 lakh (ex-showroom). Tata Nexon Diesel versions are now available from Rs 9.99 lakh and as much as Rs 14.17 lakh (ex-showroom). The overall number of SUV variants now stands at 68 after the addition of six new variants.

Tata Nexon Variant Details

Tata Nexon XM+(S)

The XZ, XZA, XZ+ (O), XZA+ (O), XZ+ (O) Dark, and XZA+ (O) Dark variants of the brand's SUV portfolio are no longer available. The XZ+ (HS), XZ+ (L), XZ+ (P), XZA+ (HS), XZA (L), and XZA+ (P) variants are new variants to be offered to consumers in place of the discontinued variants. The new variants include some feature segregation that solely affects the feature list. None of the variants have any new features. The Nexon currently has 68 variants with the inclusion of additional ones, including 18 petrol manual variants, 19 petrol automatic variants, 17 diesel manual variants, and 14 diesel automatic variants.

Tata Nexon Seat Ventilation

When it comes to features, the Tata iRA connectivity, geo-fencing, valet mode, live car diagnostics, trip analytics, and geo fence are all available on the XZA+(L) & XZA+(P). The electric sunroof is available in the XZA+(P) & XZA+(HS) variants but is not available in the XZA+(L) variation. Wireless charging and ventilated front seats are available in the XZA+(P) & XZA+(L) models, but not in the XZA+(HS).

Tata Nexon Engine Specifications

The 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine that powers the Tata Nexon generates 118 bhp of power and 170 Nm of maximum torque. Both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AMT gearbox are available with the petrol engine. The 1.5-liter diesel engine has a maximum torque of 260 Nm and a power output of 108 bhp. Additionally, a 6-speed manual transmission and 6-speed AMT are available for this engine.

Verdict: The recent Tata Nexon price hike may have been made to deal with the rising cost of commodities. Additionally, the additional variants will now make it more beneficial for customers to choose wisely when making a purchase decision based on the features given.
