KEY HIGHLIGHTS
- Tata Motors has updated the instrument cluster of Punch
- It now features a digital instrument cluster
Tata Motors has quietly implemented an enhancement to its most budget-friendly SUV, the Punch. The brand has added a digital instrument cluster as a standard feature across all trims. According to reports, this upgrade has been incorporated into all powertrain options for the Punch. This could be the impact of the Hyundai Exter, which offers a range of features that somewhat remove the Punch's sense of being a feature-rich SUV of its segment.

Tata Punch Instrument Cluster Update
Before, the Tata Punch featured an analog dial console with a small MID in between as part of its instrumentation. However, with the recent update, it now showcases a 4-inch digital cluster providing comprehensive details about the vehicle. This particular instrument cluster is consistent with what we've observed in other Tata cars. The brand has incorporated this digital instrument cluster as a standard feature up until the Creative trims which make the new feature available in Pure, Adventure, & Accomplished variants.
The Tata Punch Creative variant is equipped with a larger TFT color display that accommodates additional information like TPMS, music details, and other relevant data. Currently, there have been no reported price changes for the SUV as a result of this upgrade.

Tata Punch Engine Specifications
The Tata Punch offers two powertrain choices. The first is a 1.2-liter three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine generating 84 bhp of power and 113 Nm of peak torque. This engine is available with both a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. The second option is a 1.2-liter CNG powertrain producing 76 bhp of power and 97 Nm of peak torque. This engine is exclusively paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, providing a rated fuel economy of 26.99 km/kg. Additionally, it incorporates twin-cylinder technology.
Verdict
The incorporation of the new feature in the Punch could be a response to the Hyundai Exter, known for its abundant features. The addition of the digital instrument cluster enhances the feature richness of the Tata Punch. The Punch remains in competition with models like the Hyundai Exter and Citroen C3.
