Just like the Tata Altroz, the Tata Punch too is based on the brand's latest Agile Light Flexible Advanced (ALFA) Architecture. However, the Punch gets a completely different styling which may give you a hint of the Harrier and the Nexon. The Tata Punch is only available with a single-engine option i.e 1.2-L Revotron 3-cylinder BS6 engine. The maximum power output figures of this engine stand at 86 ps while the peak torque output is claimed to be 113 Nm. Right from the launch, the Punch will be available with a 5-speed MT as well as a 5-speed AMT gearbox. While the low-end grunt offered by this motor is commendable, the performance may not be very impressive for many.

The Altroz on the other hand can be had with three different engine options that include a naturally aspirated petrol engine, a turbocharged petrol engine, and a diesel engine. The 1.2-L Revotron engine powering the Altroz delivers a maximum power and torque output of 86 ps and 113 Nm respectively. The other petrol engine is the newly introduced 1.2-L i-TURBO petrol engine. This engine boasts a maximum power output of 110 ps while the maximum torque output stands at 140 Nm. Both these engines can only be had with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Tata Punch Vs Tata Altroz Interior and Features Comparison
The Tata Punch gets an extremely spacious cabin that offers high seating and commendable visibility. The seats are comfortable and get adjustable headrests. The floating island touchscreen infotainment system is well within the reach of the driver and the dashboard too gets an attractive and appealing layout. The doors open at an angle of 90 degrees that make it extremely easy for the occupants to move in and out of the vehicle. On the features front, the car gets a push-button start, automatic climate control, power-folding ORVM, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps and many other safety features that are offered as a standard part of the package.
Tata Altroz gets an extremely premium cabin that boasts incredible fit and finish levels along with commendable plastic quality. The visibility from inside the cabin is great and the seats offer a comfortable seating experience. The space at the front and at the rear is impressive and slightly better than the Punch. The low seating however can be a bit of concern for the elderly in the family. The floating infotainment and digital TFT instrument are however similar to the Punch.
Price Comparison
On comparing the prices, the entry-level trim of Altroz is just Rs 35,000 more expensive than Punch. Altroz is available with both petrol and diesel engines and starts at Rs 5.84 lakhs and goes up to Rs 9.59 lakhs whereas Punch that is only available with petrol engine starts at Rs 5.49 lakhs and goes up to Rs 9.09 lakhs (ex-showroom) respectively.
