Tata Safari And Harrier Won The G NCAP Safer Choice Award

Another milestone was achieved by Tata Motors on 4th September 2024, when their flagship vehicles, the Tata Safari and Tata Harrier, won the G NCAP Safer Choice Award. This award is reserved for automakers committed to producing cars that achieve the highest level of safety performance.

Last year, these vehicles received a perfect 5-star rating for adult and child safety. Following this, Tata Motors submitted them for the Safer Choice conformity tests, where they were tested for their Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), speed assistance, and Blind Spot Detection (BSD) systems, and there too, they passed with flying colors.

Safer Choice Award Parameters

The Global NCAP started the Safer Choice Award in 2018 and this year (2024) the parameters have become more stricter. So to qualify in this contest, the vehicle should meet these demand:

1. Five star Global NCAP rating for adult occupant protection.

2. Five star Global NCAP rating for child occupant protection.

3. Provide a speed assistance system and achieve a full score in Global NCAPs test criteria.

4. Provide AEB (car to car and vulnerable road user) and meet UN regulatory performance requirements.

5. Provide BSD as a stand-alone option and meet Global NCAPs performance requirements.
