Tata Motors- India's leading automaker has recently taken a shocking measure by cutting features from its sole 7-seater SUV in the market. Tata Safari Pure: Features Deleted

Tata Safari
Tata Safari

Tata Safari is currently priced between Rs. 15.49 lakh and 26.79 lakh (ex-showroom), and being a mid-spec trim variant- Safari Pure is priced at Rs. 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The company has made changes to the feature list of the SUV's Pure, Pure+ and Pure+S variants.

The Safari Pure variant offered great value for money making it one of the most selling trim in the lineup. This case is not only with Safari Pure but with other Tata cars as well. Tata Motors seems to have taken note of the variant's popularity and high VFM now which might pushed them to take this step. All in all, the feature cuts in Safari Pure have significantly reduced the value-for-money aspect of the trim.

Now let's talk about the features that have been deleted from the said variant. These include third-row AC vents, floor console armrest for the first-row, second and third-row roof lamps, TPMS indication in the cluster, TPMS valves on the wheels, spare wheel and spare wheel carrier and electrically adjustable ORVMs. You will see these changes in all Pure variants- Pure, Pure+ and Pure+S.

Tata Safari Pure: Added Features

While there is no escape from saying that the cuts outnumber the additions. it is important to know that the brand has added some features to these trims as well. These include a 10.25-inch display for the IHU, a shark fin antenna and a rear camera system.

Verdict

Tata Motors' decision to cut features from the Safari Pure variant, despite retaining its price, diminishes its value-for-money appeal. The removal of key conveniences, especially in a mid-range model, might alienate cost-conscious buyers who valued these additions. Though a few enhancements were added, they may not compensate enough for the practical features removed, impacting the model's overall appeal.
