The Tiago EV, India's most affordable EV at the time of launch, was introduced by Tata Motors in September 2022. With a payment of Rs 21,000, EV bookings began taking place in October. The brand has now begun offering test drives of the Tiago EV three months after beginning bookings. The EV is anticipated to be delivered later this month. Tata Tiago EV
The Tiago EV looks similar to its ICE sibling but get some EV specific exterior details. It has a tri-arrow shape design on the front bumper and a Electric Blue accent on several part that is unique to the brand's electric vehicles. The interior of the Tiago is similar to the ICE version, with a few small EV-specific changes. The gear lever has been replaced with a rotary dial for the drive mode selector, which includes a Sports mode.

Tata provides two battery variants for the Tiago EV: one has a 19.2 kWh battery pack, while the other has a 24 kWh battery pack. Peak torque of 114 Nm and 74 bhp are produced by the larger 24 kWh battery pack. On the other hand, the 19.2 kWh battery pack has a maximum torque of 110 Nm and a power output of 60 bhp. The latter has a 250 km MIDC range on a full charge, while the former has a 315 km MIDC range. The electric vehicle's larger battery pack version has a 5.7-second 0-60 km/h acceleration time. A standard 8 years/1.6 lakh km guarantee is included with the battery pack and motor.
It comes equipped with leatherette seats, automatic climate control as standard, driving modes, and multi-mode regenerative braking, in addition to other features. It boasts cruise control, automatic wipers, an 8-speaker Harman touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and headlights among other amenities. Seat belt reminders, rear parking sensors, a rear parking camera, and ABS with EBD are all safety features of the electric hatchback. Additionally, Zconnect telematics with over 45 features is included.

Verdict: The Tata Tiago EV will accelerate the use of EVs in India. It is now one of the most affordable EVs in India, with prices ranging from Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Citroen, which is getting ready to introduce the C3 Electric, will soon be the direct competitor for the Tiago EV on the market.
