Tata recently updated the Tiago line-up and brought in the XT(O) at a sticker price of Rs 5.48 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. This optional variant sits below the XT and undercuts it by Rs 15,000. However, with the price reduction, it surely loses out on some features.
Normally, the optional variant brings in more features but Tata has reversed the roles. The XT(O) now misses out on the 2-DIN audio head unit. For what it's worth, it actually makes sense. It continues with 4 speakers and steering mounted controls. The owners can now fit in an aftermarket Android touchscreen that brings in more feature than the regular 2-DIN. Touchscreens are anyway getting popular nowadays.
Rest, the features in the Tiago XT(O) remains identical to the XT and the safety equipment include dual front airbags, an anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution, a high-speed alert system, rear parking sensors and more importantly, it gets a Global NCAP rating of 4-stars. It is the only hatchback in the segment to feature that.

Other features include manual HVAC, tilt steering wheel, 12V power socket, dual-tone black and grey interiors, all-four power windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs, digital instrument cluster and others. Tata Motors is also providing 2 years/75,000 km warranty on the Amaze.
Under the hood, the Tiago packs in a humble 1.2-litre, BS6 compliant, three-cylinder petrol engine. Yes, this is the same unit found in the premium hatchback, Altroz. This unit generates 84 bhp at 6000 RPM with a peak torque of 113 Nm at 3300 RPM. A 5-speed stick shift comes as standard and there's an optional AMT too.
