A Tesla Model 3 has been once again spotted undergoing testing in India. The EV brand could introduce the Tesla Model 3 in India by the end of this year. Here is what we know.
The advancements in the automobile industry are indeed fascinating thanks to the time invested by mobility solutions companies back in the day. Today, the industry is well-tuned and conscious of its environmental impact. This has paved way for electric vehicles as an alternative solution. Thus, to reduce the global carbon footprint, EVs have become a major chunk in the automobile industry.
One of the pioneers in creating efficient EV technology that contributes nothing to the carbon footprint is Tesla. As a company that has advanced EV technology, Tesla has proven its grounds in the U.S market. Now that this venture is successful in the U.S market, the brand anticipates new milestone achievements in the near future in terms of global reach and sales. Hence, the company plans to introduce its fleet of EVs that make for an efficient means of mobility in India.
As far as we know, Tesla could introduce the Tesla Model 3 in India by the end of this year. We believe that this vehicle could be unveiled in a matter of few months as a Tesla Model 3 was once again spotted undergoing testing in India. The Model 3 is Teslas most affordable car and comes at a starting price of $39,990(in the U.S) which is approximately Rs 29.27 lakh

As for the powertrain, the Tesla Model 3 sold overseas comes with a single as well as dual-motor setup. The standard variant of the vehicle comes with rear-wheel drive. This variant has a range of 423km and clocks 0 to 100kmph under 6 seconds. However, the dual-motor variant packs power and can accelerate from 0 to 100 in just under 4.5 seconds. It has a range of 568km and is equipped with an AWD drivetrain. Also, Tesla claims that the top variant of the model 3 can clock over 260kmph. It is yet to be confirmed by the brand regarding which version Tesla plans to offer in India.
The Tesla Model 3 could come with an integrated touchscreen display that controls a wide variety of model 3's functions. Like the model 3 sold overseas, the display of India bound Tesla Model 3 could function as a secondary instrument cluster that shows all kinds of relevant information. Apart from it, the AC controls are integrated into the large landscape touchscreen of the Model 3. In addition to all this, the vehicle could roll out with lane assist and autopilot mode, however, it is yet to be confirmed.
The Model 3 will be one of the first Tesla's to arrive in India, however, we expect the model 3 to be priced around Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom) which is quite expensive.
