1. Panoramic Sunroof

Pure+S Onwards- Rs. 13.20 Lakhs

With the Pure+S variant onwards, the Tata Curvv offers a panoramic sunroof, something that new-age buyers are prioritizing over and sometimes also acting as a filter for selection. With the Nexon, you still get just a single-pane sunroof option. However, this might change soon as a previous spy shot revealed Tata Nexon with a panoramic sunroof, potentially coming in as a mid-cycle update.

2. Powered Tailgate With Gesture Control

Accomplished +A Onwards- Rs. 17.70 Lakhs

The Tata Curvv offers a futuristic and very practical gesture-controlled powered tailgate that does exactly what it says. Simply hover your leg below the trunk space and the boot is automatically released. Comes in handy when your hands are full and the stuff can't be kept on the ground. Also, simply press a button and the boot lid auto shuts, offering increased convenience. Nexon still gets a manual boot operation.

3. 12.3-inch Infotainment System

Accomplished +A Onwards- Rs. 17.70 Lakhs

The Curvv features striking 18-inch alloy wheels, which give it a bold and sporty stance. In contrast, the top-of-the-line Tata Nexon comes with smaller 16-inch alloy wheels. The Curvvs petal-shaped alloy rims not only enhance its sporty appearance but also complement its overall design seamlessly.

4. Level 2 ADAS

Accomplished +A Onwards- Rs. 17.70 Lakhs

One of the standout safety features of the Curvv is its Level-2 ADAS, which provides advanced functions like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. While both the Curvv and Nexon offer six airbags as standard, the Curvv goes further with additional safety technologies, including a 360-degree camera system, a blind spot monitor, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

5. 18-inch Alloy Wheels

Creative+ S Onwards- Rs. 15.20 Lakhs

6. Powered Driver's Seat

Accomplished S Onwards- Rs. 16.20 lakhs

In addition to offering front-row seat ventilation like the Nexon, the Curvv provides a 6-way adjustable powered driver's seat for enhanced comfort and ease in finding your ideal driving position. Meanwhile, the Nexon relies on manual adjustments for both the driver and front passenger seats.

7. Ambient Lighting

Creative+ S Onwards- Rs. 15.20 Lakhs

The Curvv offers a touch of luxury with its multi-color ambient lighting along the dashboard, starting from the Creative +S trim and extending to the Accomplished trim, which also includes ambient lighting around the panoramic sunroof. In contrast, the Nexon does not feature any ambient lighting options.

8. Second Row Reclining Seats

Accomplished S Onwards- Rs. 16.20 lakhs

For added comfort, the Curvv features rear seats with a reclining function, allowing passengers to adjust their seating position for a more relaxed ride. On the other hand, the Nexons second-row seats do not offer this reclining capability. Nevertheless, both the Curvv and Nexon are equipped with 60:40 split-folding rear seats, providing flexibility for expanding cargo space when needed. However, you get this flexibility from the Accomplished S onwards with a 16 lakh rupees+ price point.

The pricing of Tata Curvv starts at Rs. 10 lakhs ex-showroom and goes all the way up to Rs. 17.69 lakhs. Mind you, these are the introductory pricing is valid only for the bookings made till October 31. While its direct rival is just the Citroen Basalt, it rubs shoulders with conventional compact SUVs like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and others. The bookings are already open ad the deliveries will start from September 12 onwards.

Verdict

While the Nexon is a sub 4 meter SUV, Curvv ventures much beyond that and that is soemthing that avoids their direct comaprison. But the Indian car ownership is less of a regular uprade and more of completing the life cycle of the car till its validity. And in that sense, people are reafy to stretch their budgets by a lakh or two, and that's where it all starts making sense.
