The Yezdi Roadster is the most affordable bike in Yezdis line-up. Its direct competition is against the Royal Enfield Classic 350.
The Yezdi Roadster is a road-based cruiser bike that slots in below the Scrambler, and the Adventure. It has an ex-showroom price that starts from Rs. 1,98,142, with the Dark colour options, and with the chrome options, the price shoots up to Rs. 2,06,142.
Yezdi has always been the Indianised version of the Jawa, and the ritual continues into 2022 as well. For mechanically, all three use the same 334 cc Jawa Perak engine but tuned for different purposes. The Roadster for instance has a relatively flatter torque curve, and with an extra 6th gear, expect it to cruise on highways without much worry. Such kinds of thoughtfulness are abundant in the motorcycle. Below we have discussed five such important things that you should know before you buy the Roadster. But before you go, make sure you join our 91Wheels Telegram and 91Wheels Whatsapp group to be a part of interesting automotive discussions.
Styling
The Roadster is built around a double-cradle frame, and the body suspends on telescopic forks upfront with 135 mm wheel travel, and twin gas-filled emulsion rear shock absorbers (for the retro touch) with 100 mm wheel travel. Braking duties are handled by 230 mm disc brakes upfront and 240 mm rear disc brakes at the back, with dual-channel ABS that further gets three modes.
The overall design has been kept simple, and the panel under the front seat looks the same as it was in the old bike. The small LED headlights will remind you of a certain Harley-Davidson, and the twin exhaust setup differentiates it from the rest of the line-up. Furthermore, it gets alloy wheels fitted to tubeless tyres, 18 at the front and 17 at the rear.
Different Engine
As mentioned before, the Roadster is powered by the same 334 cc engine available with the Jawa Perak. But Yezdis engine gets a new set of cams and a larger throttle body. Power output is lesser than the Perak, at 29.7 Ps of power, and 29 Nm of peak torque. The Roadster is designed to have a flatter torque curve, which peaks at lower revs when compared to the Scrambler and Aventure. So, the Roadster should be a pleasant motorcycle to ride, as far as its spec sheets go.
Feature-Loaded
The Yezdi Roadster gets three ABS modes - Road, Off-road, Rain. The modes can be selected via buttons on the left handlebar. The button layout will roughly remind you of the KTM ADV 250. Aside from that, the Roadster will come with a full-LED headlight and tail lamp. Itll also get a full LCD instrument cluster that shows the real-time mileage, remaining range, gear position, rpm, fuel level, clock, trip meter, and light signs. Unlike the other two, unfortunately, the Roadster misses out on Bluetooth connectivity.
Rivals
The Yezdi Roadster competes against the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Honda CB 350, and the Jawa Forty-Two 2.1. With this competition, the Yezdi comes across as quite the affordable option at Rs. 1,98,142.
Delivery and Bookings
Unlike last time, Classic Legends has reworked its strategy with the Yezdi brand. The company has dispatched 300 motorcycles across all showrooms in India, and if you wanted to buy one, you can get the bike instantly on the day itself even. You can also book the bike for a minimal amount, and the waiting period is slated to be of maximum one week.
