Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) is all set to launch its new SUV Exter in India on 10 July. Design
The upcoming Hyundai Exter will get an H-shapes LED DRL, projector headlamps, a dynamic skid plate, and the distinctive Exter badging at the front profile. On the sides it will get diamond-cut alloy wheels with a distinctive design. Moving to the rear it will boast H-shaped tail lamp, a flat tail gate, prominent silver skid plates on the bumper with integrated reflectors. It also gets high mounted stop lamp and shark fin antenna.
Colours & Variants
The upcoming Exter will offer a total of 6 single-color choices and 3 dual-color options. The monotone palette includes Atlas White, Cosmic Blue, Ranger Khakhi, Fiery Red, Starry Night, and Titan Grey. For those interested in dual-tone combinations, there are options such as Atlas White with Abyss Black, Cosmic Blue with Abyss Black, and Ranger Khakhi with Abyss Black. The brand will offer Exter in 8 different primary variants: EX, EX(O), S, S(O), SX, SX DT, SX(O), & SX(O) Connect.
Interior Features
The Exter's interior will feature impressive elements, including semi-leatherette seats with Exter branding. It will also be equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additional features will include TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, an electric sunroof, connected car features, support for regional languages, Alexa integration, voice command support, and more.
Safety Features
On the safety front the Exter will get some segment leading features. It will boast 6 airbags standard across all trims, Hill Assist Control (HAC), ESC, and VSM. Additionally, the Exter provides common safety features including Keyless Entry, ABS with EBD, Rear Parking Sensors, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Burglar Alarm, and much more. 3-point seat belts are also provided, along with seatbelt reminders for all seats.

Engine Specifications
The Hyundai Exter will be equipped with a 1.2-liter NA petrol engine that will generate 114 Nm of torque and 82 bhp of power. A clever AMT gearbox and a 5-speed manual gearbox will be used with this engine. The 1.2-liter petrol engine with CNG compatibility will be the other engine choice. 95 Nm of maximum torque and 68 bhp of power would be produced by this engine. There will only be one 5-speed manual gearbox available to go with this powerplant.
Verdict: Hyundai's upcoming Exter will pack a lot of features and modern amenities to attract more buyers. The Exter will compete with the Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger and other small SUVs. We anticipate the price of Exter to be around Rs 7-10 lakh (ex-showroom).
