Toyota has upgraded the safety features for the Innova Crysta BS6 models. The new safety features of Toyota Innova Crysta BS6 includes VSC (Vehicle Stability Control) and HSA (Hill Start Assist) as standard across all trims. Lets understand these more in the article below.

The new-age Innova BS6 comes in two engine options - one petrol and one diesel, and the latter gains more in sales among private buyers as well as cab aggregators. The oil burner is a 2.4-litre unit which is available in both manual and automatic transmissions. It makes 148 bhp along with a peak torque of 343 Nm. The older 2.8 is no more on sale.
Sharing details on the petrol version then the bigger 2.7-litre makes 164 bhp on tap along with 245 Nm of peak torque. Transmission on the Innova includes a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed auto for both petrol and diesel engines.
Prior to the BS6 norms, Toyota Innova was also sold in a bigger 2.8L oil burner, the same as the Fortuner. It used to make 177 bhp and this bigger unit only came with an automatic gearbox. After it got discontinued, the 2.4L now comes with an optional auto transmission.

Sharing details on the other safety features then it continues with the ABS (Antilock Braking System) along with EBD (Electronic brake force distribution), EBS (Emergency brake signal), Rear parking sensors, high-speed alert system, front seat belt reminders, driver, driver knee and front passenger airbag as standard across all trims. The higher trim ZX gets as much as 7 airbags.
In other news, Toyota also introduced a leadership edition of the Innova recently. It features cosmetic changes and costs and additional Rs 65,000 more than its counterparts. It is available in Wildfire Red and White pearl crystal shine.
The changes include contrasting roof and alloy wheels in black shade chrome garnish at the grille, rear spoiler, leadership edition badges and more. This edition also packs in features like a 360-degree camera and auto-folding outside rearview mirrors. This edition on the VX trim.
In terms of pricing, the Toyota Innova Crysta rivals with popular Mahindra XUV500, MG Hector and Tata Harrier. And it is only the Harrier which offers VSC and HSA as standard across all trims while the others don't. The prices of Innova BS6 starts from Rs 15.36 lakh and goes up till Rs 23.02 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
