Toyota Innova Crysta Electric Spied
Recent spy photos showed the Innova EV without any camouflage showing the front and rear profiles. The MPV's front features a closed off grille, an updated bumper, and headlamps with blue highlights and the blue accent Toyota logo seen on the Camry Hybrid. Innova EV badging on the D-pillar, blue body decals, and different-looking alloy wheels from the ICE Innova Crysta are added to the side of the body. Its rear features a tail-lamp unit with a similar style to the current ICE model, as well as Innova EV badging. Similar touchscreen entertainment systems and three-spoke steering wheels are included inside the electric version of the vehicle as in the ICE version.

The battery's specs and other pertinent details are yet unknown. According to earlier reports, Innova EV is built for testing purposes, therefore it's possible that the company is using it to test the capabilities of an electric motor with a ladder-on-frame chassis. The size of the battery pack that can be installed on the vehicle's floor is constrained in a ladder frame chassis by the long structural elements that run the length of the vehicle and the structural links that run the width of the vehicle.
Launch Timeline
Given that Toyota just unveiled the Innova Hycross, which is based on a more advanced platform, it is uncertain when the Innova EV will be released. A monocoque chassis, a hybrid powertrain, and more contemporary features are added to the Hycross. Toyota may not release the Innova EV to the market anytime soon as a result.
Verdict: It's possible that the test mule was putting the drivetrain through tests for internal research and development.
