As can be seen, the upcoming Innova Hycross will deliver the highest mileage. And it is good considering its size. A good 20 to 23 kmpl is something to look out for. One thing we know for sure is that, be it the city or the highways, the overall FE with the petrol-hybrid set-up definitely comes out great in the end. Also, the power expected can range between 175 bhp to 185 bhp.
The existing Innova Crysta petrol delivers a mere 10.60 kmpl with the MT and 10.50 kmpl when paired with a 6-speed AT. The power comes from a 2.7L massive petrol engine and Crysta sits on a ladder on the frame chassis.
Another popular rival, Hyundai Alcazar gets a 2.0L, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol motor. This one delivers an ARAI-certified economy of 14.5 kmpl with the stick shift and 14.2 kmpl with the AT. This 2.0L motor pumps out 157 bhp of power with a peak torque of 192 Nm.
MG Hector Plus gets two petrol engine options - 1.5L petrol and 1.5L petrol with mild-hybrid tech. The latter only gets mated to a 6-speed MT while the regular petrol gets a six-speed manual transmission as standard and CVT and DCT as an option.

The most powerful 7-seater petrol car in this segment is the Mahindra XUV700. The 2.0-litre, mStallion petrol motor belts out 197 bhp of power with a peak torque of 380 Nm. As of now, the certified fuel economy of this motor is not yet out. In real-world driving conditions, we expect it to deliver 10-11 kmpl in real-world driving conditions.
Verdict
The upcoming Innova Hycross will be the next big thing. Several images of the same are now on the internet and it clearly looks a notch above the Innova Crysta. If you want a 7-seater car which delivers good mileage then Innova Hycross is the clear winner here.
