TVS Sport is the entry-level commuter motorcycle from the house of the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer. However, this time TVS has gone ahead and given it a significant mechanical upgrade over its predecessor. The BS4-compliant Sport used to get a 99.7cc carburetted motor that developed 7.3 bhp and 7.5 Nm. On the flip side, the BS6-compliant TVS Sport features a larger 109.7cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that churns out 8.3 bhp and 8.7Nm of torque.
TVS Radeon BS6 also employs the same 110cc engine with identical power and torque figures and comes mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox. The Radeon is a capable commuter motorcycle and is very popular in the rural areas. TVS also claims that the switch from a carburettor to TVS' Eco Thrust fuel-injection technology improves its fuel efficiency by 15 per cent!
The suspension duties on both the motorcycles are performed by telescopic front forks and dual shock absorbers at the rear. TVS Sport BS6 gets only drum brakes at both the ends while the Radeon BS6 gets an optional disc at the front, which made its debut last year and is available only in the Commuter Bike Of The Year variant. This special edition model gets a rubberised tank top pad, knee pads, brown stitched seat, chrome mirrors and metal levers.
The TVS Sport BS6 is available in a total of five different colour schemes Black with Red, White with Red, White with Purple, Volcano Red and Mercury Grey. TVS Radeon is available in 7 different colours - Black, Volcano Red, Titanium Grey, Royal Purple, Pearl White, Metal Black, Golden Beige, along with Chrome Black and Chrome Brown paint schemes with the special edition model.
