Bajaj Pulsar NS 400: Design and Features
While there is no official detail known about the upcoming Pulsar 400, we suspect it'll carry forward the 'NS' brand. It will be a naked sports bike that will get sharp and aggressive design highlights. The teaser video shows the rear tyre with a hugger attached to it. The 17-inch black alloy wheel at the rear looks like an evolved version of the Pulsar NS 200. The rear disc brake is a rotary one, rather than a petal disc. As per our expectation, the rear tyre hugger design indicates that the tail section will be upright and give the bike a proper sports stance.
Bajaj will equip the NS 400 with the utmost features. Apart from LED lights, it'll also get a digital console, perhaps a TFT unit, with Bluetooth phone connectivity. Additionally, it'll get ride modes, ABS modes, traction control, and turn-by-turn navigation as well. Other features may include a USB phone charging port, split seats, and unique graphics.
Bajaj Pulsar NS 400: Engine, Price, Launch, and Rivals
There are online rumours indicating that the Pulsar 400 will get the same engine as the Dominar 400. It is a 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that generates a healthy power of 40 PS and 35 Nm of torque on the Dominar. However, there is a possibility that the Pulsar NS 400 might get the latest 399cc engine from the new-gen KTM 390 Duke. On the KTM, the new powertrain generates a peak power of 45.3 bhp and a peak torque of 39 Nm. We suspect that the upcoming Pulsar 400 will get the engine sourced from KTM. It'll also get a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper-assist clutch.
Hardware will include 17-inch alloy wheels, disc brakes with dual-channel ABS, USD front forks, preload-adjustable rear monoshock suspension, and clip-on handlebars.
As it'll become the flagship Pulsar model in Bajaj's portfolio, we anticipate that it'll be priced somewhere between Rs 2-2.25 lakh (introductory). Also, there is a possibility that Bajaj might introduce it in two or more variants. These variants will be differentiated by the optional features as such the Quickshifter. The primary rivals of the Pulsar 400 will be the TVS Apache RTR 310 and the Triumph Speed 400.
