Tata Punch EV
India's market for electric four-wheelers is currently led by Tata Motors. Now, the company is getting ready to introduce a new EV to the Indian market. Punch will soon be available as an electric vehicle, and this is anticipated to happen in 2023. Tata Punch EV will have an identical appearance to its ICE sibling. A single electric motor with an estimated power output of 74 bhp and 114 Nm will be coupled to a 24 kWh battery pack to power the Punch EV. The forthcoming Punch's projected electric driving range would be between 300 and 350 kilometres.
Citroen C3 EV
Citroen recently confirmed the eC3, or C3 electric will make its debut. The brand has not yet announced the vehicle's launch date, but we believe it will occur in January 2023. The Citroen C3 electric will have a similar appearance to its ICE counterpart and come with a battery pack that is 30 kWh or larger. The brand has not provided any information regarding the C3 electric's specifications. The C3 electric will maintain the features taken from its ICE counterpart.
MG 4 EV
The MG 4 EV from MG Motor India will be on display at the upcoming Auto Expo 2023. In June, the MG 4 EV made its debut on a global scale. In September same year, it was introduced to the European market. The modular scalable platform (MSP) architecture serves as the foundation for the mid-size hatch's all-electric design. There are two battery pack configurations available for the MG 4 EV: a 51 kWh unit and a 64 kWh one. The MG 4 EV claims to have an electric driving range of up to 450 kilometres on a single charge.
Tata Blackbird EV
In the Indian market, the Tata Blackbird is one of the most eagerly awaited SUVs. The Blackbird is rumoured to appear during the 2023 Auto Expo, according to a lot of online speculation. However, the company has not commented anything about the arrival of the Blackbird SUV. The upcoming Tata Blackbird EV might sit above the Nexon EV in the brand's lineup. In order to compete favourably with the MG ZS EV, it is anticipated that it will be coupled with a larger battery pack than the Nexon EV.
Tata Sierra EV
Another Tata EV which people are looking forward is the Sierra EV. At Auto Expo 2020, the company showed the Sierra EV concept, blending the traditional silhouette with a modern appearance. The Punch, Harrier, and Safari design language are mirrored at the front of the Sierra EV Concept, which will enhance the IMPACT 2.0 design language. The new "Agile Light Flexible Advanced" (ALFA) Architecture will be used in its construction. The Tata Sierra is anticipated to use the most modern Ziptron EV powertrain found in the Nexon EV. Tata Motors hasn't revealed any details about Sierra's features.
Verdict: These are a few of the upcoming electric SUVs scheduled for 2023 release. Despite the fact that certain SUVs are still rumored to be unveiled, some have been confirmed by the brands. With the introduction of new electric vehicles, the market for electric mobility in India is expected to increase significantly in the near future.
