Upcoming Hero Xpulse 400 & the Xtreme 400 test bikes have been spied in Ladakh. The new Xpulse will feature a more powerful engine and added tech as well.
It seems that Hero MotoCorp has finally listened to its Xpulse fans. How? Well, the assumed upcoming Hero Xpulse 400 test mule was recently spied on a test run. This means that a bigger engine-equipped Xpulse is on its way. Additionally, a faired version of the same engine probably was also seen testing with it.
Hero Xpulse 400 Details
It's been a long time for the Xpulse 200 4V in India now. The bike has survived the tough times of pandemic sales as well. Despite doing adequately fine, the fans of this bike always wanted more performance out of it. Hero also tried to solve the top-end lack of the engine by updating it with a 4V tech. However, now the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is in the works; a new Xpulse also seems to be taking shape.
The test bike was spied in the high-altitude of Ladakh terrain. The fully camouflaged test bike featured a lot of components from the Xpulse 300 concept bike. For example, the petal disc brakes, the gearbox cover, and even the chrome side stand were being used on it. So, the assumption of this being a bigger engine (maybe 300cc or more) clarifies. The most interesting bit remains the use of the red trellis frame which was first seen on the concept bike.
However, it was not alone as a faired-version was also seen along with it. The faired bike seems to be a bigger version of the Xtreme. It will face competition with the likes of TVS Apache RR 310, KTM RC 390, & the BMW G 310 RR upon its launch. Both of the test bikes were fitted with Jaipur temporary registration plates. This is exactly where the Hero's R&D is situated.
Launch, Price & Rivals
We suspect that with its development undergoing, the bigger Xpulse won't make its debut any time before mid-2023. The rivals will include the KTM Adventure 390 and the upcoming Himalayan 450 ADV. However, the pricing of the upcoming Hero Xpulse 300 will shoot north of Rs 2 lakh.
