Hero XPulse 400 - What Will It Be?
Hero XPulse has revolutionized the Hero brand itself in India. The low-cost affordable ADV segment not just got exploded but it also attracted a lot of higher segment buyers for Hero. Hence, the ADV revision is pending from Hero. A test mule of this bigger engine equipped XPulse was seen a few weeks ago in Ladakh. However, this is the first time that it has been spied in city which is Jaipur. With that said, rivals like Royal Enfield Himalayan & KTM Adventure 390 have proved that there is potential in the mid-range ADV bike segment. Therefore, to carry forward the legacy of XPulse, a bigger engine version is required.
What's known? As seen in the photos, the test bike will have a big stance. On the side of it is seen a KTM Adventure 390, making it looks equally capable. The visible rear end shows a fat rear tyre, an upswept exhaust can, & high seating position. Powering it'll be a 350-400cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The peak power output from it shall hover in the likes of 35-40 bhp. Also, it'll get a bigger 21-inch front tyre and tube-type rubber. Meanwhile, more details about it will only be revealed as the bike reaches its production stage.
Verdict
The bigger XPulse seems to be a good idea. In fact, the segment it is going to cater is still expanding. Royal Enfield is soon going to debut it's brand new Himalayan with a liquid-cooled engine. Meanwhile, this new XPulse shall debut by the end of 2024 in India. We expect that its pricing will be somewhere around Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 2.75 lakh.
