The 2020 Hyundai Creta proved out to be a success in the Indian markets as soon as it was launched. Despite the pandemic in its full strength, the sales did not get altered at all and it became the best selling mid-size SUV. The recent update it that a 7 seater version of the Hyundai Creta is in the development and the upcoming SUV has been spotted on Indian roads.

The spy shots reveal that the length of the 7 seater version of Creta will be longer than the 5-seater version currently on sale. This is to accomodate the extra bench to seat 2 more people. Once launched, the SUV will take on the likes of MG Hector Plus, Toyota Innova Crysta and Mahindra XUV500.

The spy shot images also reveal that the headlights will be similar to that of the 5-seater Creta but the upcoming 7-seaters grille design will be different. Also, the wraparound taillights, redesigned rear bumper and a bogger rear quarter glass will be some elements which will differentiate the 5 and 7-seater Creta.
As far as the interior goes then the similar upholstery design, larger touchscreen unit and a multi-function steering wheel will be observed. Features like the digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, front parking sensors will be observed.

Sharing light on the engine details then it will continue with the same 1.5-litre petrol and diesel unit making 113 bhp on tap. Also on the offer will be the powerful 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol making 140 bhp with 242 Nm of peak torque. To keep the costs low, Hyundai might bring in a 6-speed manual with the turbo petrol. The prices of the upcoming SUV are not yet out but we expect it to stick to an upward of Rs 12 lakh mark.
