Hyundai Exter - What To Expect?
The Exter is Hyundai's attempt at the Tata Punch. When Punch was introduced, the audience was sceptical about this new niche of cars. Branded as a micro-SUV, Punch created a new segment that has opened doors for other makers like Hyundai. Now, Exter is going to launch on 10 July with some segment-first features and tech. It looks radical but it also draws its design details from other Hyundai cars like the Grand i10 NIOS & Venue as well. Hyundai will offer it in 8 variants and 9 colour options. It'll also feature the best safety features in its segment. For example, 6 airbags, Hill Assist Control (HAC), ESC, and VSM. Additionally, the Exter provides common safety features including Keyless Entry, ABS with EBD, Rear Parking Sensors, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Burglar Alarm, and much more.
In terms of features, Hyundai will equip it with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with Wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, TPMS, digital instrument console, etc. Under its bonnet, it'll get a 1.2-lt NA petrol engine sourced from Aura. This engine makes 82 bhp of peak power & 114 Nm of peak torque. It'll be offered with a 5-speed manual transmission as well as an option of a 5-speed AMT. Hyundai also plans to launch a CNG version of the Exter in the coming days with a 1.2-lt engine that makes 68 bhp of power.
Verdict
The launch of Exter is one of the most anticipated car launches of 2023 in India. The Exter will offer new tech and features that the segment rival Tata Punch doesn't offer. However, it'll also compete with the Citroen C3 which comes with an equally powerful engine but fewer features. Tell us what you think about the Exter in the comments.
