Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 To Be Offered With MRF Tyres?
While the Scrambler 650 has been spied on multiple times, the newest spy images are different. The spotted bike was seen with multiple new test equipment. For example, the previous test mules had Pirelli Scorpio Rally STR tyres. But, the latest one has been fitted with MRF Nylorex-X tyres. These tyres are not listed on the official website till now; indicating that these have been specifically developed for the bike. Additionally, the instrument console on it is inspired by the upcoming Himalayan 450. The previous test mules were seen with a console similar to the Meteor 350.
Meanwhile, the overall design is almost final and it looks short than the Interceptor 650. While it'll use the Interceptor's platform, the subframe and the swingarm will be revised in design. Additionally, the powertrain parts have been backed out and so does the handlebar. The switchgear is similar to the Super Meteor 650. Other notable equipment includes the spoke rims, LED taillight, LED indicators, & LED headlight with guard. With that said it'll come with the same 648cc engine as seen on its siblings. This engine shall be re-tuned according to the weight & dimensional changes on the bike. RE will also offer a bunch of accessories like flyscreen, knuckle guards, sump guard, luggage bags, etc.
Verdict
The Scrambler 650 is going the next addition in the 650cc lineup by RE. However, the Classic 650 is also in works and it might debut ahead of the Scrambler itself. Also, the Himalayan 450 is expected to launch by September 2023 globally. We suspect that RE will position the Scrambler 650 around the Interceptor. This means it can possibly be priced around Rs 3.20 lakh.
