Tata Curvv EV: What To Expect?
As seen in the latest spy shots, the test car is seen in the vicinity of Leh city. It seems like Tata is currently completing the last leg of testing the Curvv EV. Hence, the high-altitude testing is ongoing. While the design was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo, the test car is completely covered here. The sloping roof design like a coupe is evident and the raised stance of the Curvv makes it look bulky.
The Curvv is based on a heavily reworked Nexon SUV platform. This platform is extended to increase the interior space as well as to provide a large boot space. However, the length of the Curvv EV is well above 4mt, meaning that it'll not enjoy the tax benefits of the 4mt mark. Therefore, its pricing will also plunge between Rs 16-22 lakh (expected).
Now, the details about the powertrain and the range are unavailable for now. But, we suspect that Tata will equip the Curvv EV with a larger battery pack than the Nexon EV. This means that there is a possibility that the Curvv EV could get a real-world range of more than 500 km per charge.
The interiors of Curvv EV will be inspired by the Nexon EV. It'll get a digital console and a big touchscreen on the center console. The leaked images on the internet showcase that it'll use cycle parts from the Nexon EV, like the AC vents, door panels, etc. However, the earlier test mules have been spotted with a 4-spoke steering wheel; something that we saw on the latest Harrier & Safari updates.

Verdict
The Curvv EV has enticed a lot of interest among the new C-SUV buyers. Customers planning on buying the Nexon or the rivals like Hyundai Creta & Kia Seltos are now waiting to see the Curvv in flesh. We're hopeful that the EV version of Curvv will launch by September. The petrol and diesel versions are likely to launch by Diwali this year.
