Kawasaki W175 Update - An Attempt To Keep It Alive?
The W175 roadster bike is the most affordable Kawasaki product in India. It is a premium commuter bike that rivals the Yamaha FZ-S and the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 as well. Launched back in 1965, the W175 has been a proven workhorse in the Asian markets. However, since its launch in India, it has hardly found buyers due to its steep price tag. Now, to revive the brand, Kawasaki is soon going to update it with new features and colours.
Hinted via an official social media teaser, the new model will be revealed at the upcoming India Bike Week. Although not a lot is known about the updates, online reports suggest that it'll get alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. Also, to give it a pinch of freshness, Kawasaki will offer new vibrant colour options. Mind you, the W175 is powered by a 177cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that makes a modest 13 PS of peak power. However, it is priced between Rs 1.47 lakh and Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Verdict
The new W175 motorcycle will not be any substantial upgrade than the current model. The changes will be only moderate and the whole idea is to keep the W175 alive in the Indian market. Due to very low sales, Kawasaki India is trying to keep the new customers engaged towards itself. Tell us in the comments below what you think about the W175 roadster.
