This TSI engine makes as much as 110 bhp and is available with a 6-speed manual as well as in the optional DSG gearbox. Sadly, the limited edition Vento which is Rs 1 lakh cheaper than the Highline Plus trim only gets a manual gearbox! Now, without wasting any further ado, let's compare the mileage with its rivals
Model | Volkswagen Vento | Hyundai Verna | Maruti Ciaz | Honda City |
Fuel Economy (km/l) | 17.69 - MT | 17.7 MT, 18.45 AT, 19.2 Turbo Petrol | 20.65 MT, 20.04 AT | 17.4 MT, 18 AT |

The new 999cc, three-cylinder engine in the Vento keeps up the pace with its competition and delivers 17.69 km/l. It beats the current-gen Honda City for which the ARAI stated mileage stands at 17.4 km/l. We hoped that with the smaller engine the fuel economy of new Vento will improve but it does not.
Like the Vento, the Verna too gets a turbo petrol engine as an option. The 1.0L turbo unit is borrowed from the Venue and makes as much as 110 bhp on tap. And that engine delivers 19.2 km/l which is impressive to the mark. It also uses the same 6-speed manual transmission like the Vento.
