Volkswagen India has launched its Virtus sedan at an introductory price of Rs 11.22 lakh. The Virtus was one of the most anticipated sedan since its debut in March. The sedan is built under VW Group's India 2.0 strategy and shares the brand's MQB-A0-IN platform.
The VW Virtus is available in two versions: Dynamic Line and Performance Line. The Dynamic Line comes with a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine that produces 114 bhp of power and 178 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes with a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission.

The Performance Line, on the other hand, comes with a 1.5-litre TSI EVO engine that delivers 148 bhp of power and 250 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a seven-speed DSG transmission. The Performance Line adds paddle shifters, dynamic spoilers, and red brake callipers to the front wheel for a unique design.

The Volkswagen Virtus is the segment's longest sedan, with a striking appearance. The front grille, window sills, and door handles are all chrome. The Dynamic Line gets a The GT line variation has glossy razor black alloy wheels, blacked ORVMs, and several GT logos, among other changes.
The sedan's interior has a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 8-speakers standard across the range as well as a digital cockpit, push-button start, automated temperature control, ventilated front seats, and wireless charging, connected car technology, and an electric sunroof. There are over 90 official Volkswagen accessories to select from.
The safety features include ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESP), TPMS, hill hold control, side-impact protection beams on doors, TCS, electronic differential lock, all-five three-point seatbelts, and 6-Airbags among other safety features. In the Virtus, the brand offers more than 40 active and passive safety measures.

Volkswagen is giving a four-year warranty with roadside support. Also the service value packages start at Rs 20,338 for the 1.0-litre TSI versions and Rs 22,881 for the 1.5-litre TSI variants, both for a period of four years. According to the company, the car's servicing costs start at Rs 40 paise per km for the 1.0-litre version and Rs 45 paise per km for the 1.5-litre version.
