The new Volkswagen Virtus is all set to make its debut in the Indian market soon. This new German sedan will replace the decade-old Vento in the Indian market and will be unveiled in March 2022. Volkswagen recently confirmed that the new Virtus sedan will make its global debut in March 2022 while the car will go on sale in the third week of May in India. The brand launched the first-gen model of the VW Virtus sedan in many South American markets in 2018. The new Virtus will not only offer a number of exterior updates but in addition to this, will also offer an updated cabin and an updated equipment list. The VW Virtus will be based on the new MQB A0 IN platform and will be the second car in the brand's line-up to be based on this new localised platform after the VW Taigun.

The new VW Virtus will take on the rivals like Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Ciaz, and the upcoming Skoda Slavia. The Virtus will be offered with powerful TSI motors and will offer impressive performance and commendable driving dynamics. In addition to this, the Virtus sedan will also measure much larger than the VW Vento and will also offer a longer list of features such as wireless charger, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, auto headlamps, sunroof, keyless entry and go, automatic climate control, six airbags, LED headlamps, etc.
Powering the Virtus will be the same 1.0-L TSI and 1.5-L TSI motors that are also available with the VW Taigun. The 1.0-L TSI motor and 1.5-L TSI engine churn out a peak power output of 115 hp and 150 hp respectively. The brand will be offering a six-speed manual, six-speed torque converter automatic, and 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox with these engines. A more powerful GT line range may also be introduced with the Virtus.
