Volvo XC40 Recharge Rebranded To EX40 Recharge, Prices Hiked!

Volvo has always been a believer in electric cars, and even though the brand recently had a change of plans towards its EV ambitions, it remains committed to offering newer electric cars. The XC40 Recharge has just been rebranded as the Volvo EX40 Recharge in the Indian market, and it is a step towards bringing more of its global electric lineup to India.

Volvo EX40 Recharge Details: What's New?

The EX40 Recharge essentially retains the same core design from its launch back in 2022, with the familiar SUV silhouette, the closed-off panel signifying its electric powertrain, the Pixel LED headlights with Thor's Hammer DRLs, along with redesigned bumpers and tail-lights.

Underneath, the EX40 Recharge packs an electric motor placed on the rear axle, which produces 238bhp and 420Nm of torque, with a 0-100kmph time of 7.3 seconds, while reaching a top speed of 180kmph. The battery pack is a 69kWh unit, which can be charged from 0-100% in a claimed time of 7 hours via a 11kW AC charging setup. Alternatively, a DC fast charging station can juice up the battery in a claimed 34 minutes.

The interiors of the EX40 Recharge makes use of leather-free upholstery, and it continues to be identical, featuring a 9-inch touch screen infotainment system, 360-degree camera, a 12-inch digital cluster, dual-zone climate control, a Harman Kardon sound system, power-adjustable driver seat with memory function, along with safety features such as lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, rear collision warning, adaptive power steering, and rear collision warning among others.

Verdict

The Volvo EX40 Recharge gets a small price hike, while retaining nearly everything that the XC40 Recharge came with. With Volvo looking to bring more of its global-spec EV lineup to India, this rebranding is a part of aligning its Indian lineup.
