Volkswagen Taigun is the talk of the town as it will rival the South Korean cousins and the Skoda Kushaq. Now, we're all aware of some of the features that the Taigun will get, but has it ever crossed your mind that what does the base variant offer? Well, we've caught a video floating on the internet and we believe it is a Comfortline variant of the VW Taigun. As observed in other VW group cars, Trendline is the base variant while Comfortline is the second to base followed by Highline Plus and then the GT.
The comfortline variant of the upcoming VW Taigun takes inspiration from the higher variants in terms of styling. Like the chrome elements at the front grille and its lower section, on the side profile and at the rear profile highlighting the reflector area. It also gets the similarly designed wheel arch cladding that gives the SUV a rugged look.
Other details include an all-black shark fin antenna, silver-finished roof rails, body-coloured door handles, rear wiper with defogger, LED daytime running lights, fog lights at the front and Taigun and TSI badging at the rear profile. Do notice the steel wheels that come with wheel covers. We believe these are 16-inch wheels. The top-spec will get 17-inch dual-tone style alloy wheels.

There's not much information on the interior but from the video, it packs in an all-black colour scheme and you also get a touchscreen infotainment system. Like the Kushaq, we believe it will be smaller in size but will carry modern connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. We can also expect a rear camera that helps the individuals in parking.
Mechanically, VW Taigun will be powered by two engine options - 1.0L TSI generating 115 PS of power with peak torque of 178 Nm and a more powerful 1.5L TSI that churns out 150 PS of power with a maximum torque of 250 Nm. Both the engines will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and for the automatic, the 1.0L will come with a 6-speed AT and the 1.5L will be mated to a 7-speed DSG.
