Toyota Kirloskar Motor has officially removed Innova Crysta from their website ahead of their upcoming MPV, Innova Hycross launch. Has the Japanese carmaker discontinued the model for good? However, online reports suggest that Toyota will be offering the Innova Crysta with a mild facelift and the same will be launched in January 2023.

This MPV is quite popular in the Indian market and especially the diesel variant grabs most of the sales. Some reports also suggest that Toyota will bring the diesel engine only in the top-spec ZX variant. And only a handful of units will be allotted to dealerships. While others suggest that it will be available in lower trims G, G+ and GX.

If latter is the case then the Innova Crysta diesel is expected to be priced from Rs 19 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. In addition to this, we also believe that the second-hand market for the Innova Crysta diesel will definitely rise up. The models with low running can literally be a hot piece in the market and the sellers can really enjoy a premium for those looking for Crysta diesel.

Under the hood, Crysta diesel gets a 2.4-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged motor. This engine churns out 148 bhp of power with a peak torque of 343 Nm(manual) and 360 Nm(automatic). This engine is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard and a six-speed torque converter automatic as an option.

Verdict

Toyota might re-introduce the Crysta facelift in January 2023. It can feature some cosmetic changes and some additional features. That said, the prices of the MPV will definitely see a hike and the model is expected to be available in limited units only. Also, the 2.7L petrol will be axed for the 2023 model and it will be available only in diesel engine.
