- Price starts at Rs. 10.45 lakhs
- One shade discontinued
The Kia Carens has an announcement to make and that is the departure of a colour tone from its pallet. The colour themes have been cut down by a single option and you wont be able to buy the Moss Brown option anymore. This leaves the MPV with only 5 colour choices as of now.
Let's quickly jump into more details and look at the discontinued shade on offer.
Kia Carens MPV: Brown Shade No More
Kia India has provided an update on the color options for its Carens MPV. The Moss Brown exterior color is no longer available for the three-row model. As a result, the Carens is now offered in six paint hues, including Intense Red, Imperial Blue, Aurora Black Pearl, Sparkling Silver, Gravity Grey, and Glacier White Pearl.

The Kia Carens is offered at a starting price of Rs. 10.45 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in seven variants Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, Luxury (O), Luxury Plus, and X-Line. The X-Line variant was recently introduced in October with a price tag of Rs. 18.95 lakh (ex-showroom).
New X-Line Variant Of The Popular MPV
The Carens X-Line variant brings a stylish Matte Graphite exterior color option and several eye-catching enhancements. These include a glossy black finish on the radiator grille, front and rear bumpers, ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors), skid plate, and side door garnish. In terms of the interior, the Carens X-Line boasts an exclusive "Xclusive Two-Tone Black and Splendid Sage Green" theme. The seats, armrests, steering wheel, and gear lever cover feature contrasting orange stitching.
Moreover, the X-Line variant comes with a unique rear seat entertainment package, setting it apart from other variants. This package offers access to a range of entertainment and news apps, including podcasts and screen mirroring. An interesting feature allows passengers to operate the rear screens using a smartphone app, enhancing the in-cabin entertainment experience.
The X-Line variant provides flexibility in powertrain choices, allowing customers to choose between the petrol or diesel engine. The petrol variant comes with a seven-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission), while the diesel variant is equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission. Notably, the Carens X-Line is exclusively offered in the six-seater configuration.
Verdict
Kia Carens has cut down on colour options and this is a not so frequent but common course of action by manufacturers. This is an outcome of very low demand of the choice and hence the taken step. Meanwhile you still have a diverse choice of themes to select from.
