Variant Recommendation
The Raider now comes in an additional iGO variant. which comes in at a lesser price than the SX variant, and offers a similar set of features. With the iGO micro hybrid tech, the torque also goes up marginally. With a balance of features, tech, slightly better performance and efficiency, the iGO variant becomes the one to recommend.

Expert Verdict on Raider 125
The TVS Raider 125 is a smart-looking commuter bike with a sporty character and the latest features. Its engine is responsive & the performance is fast but the brakes are just moderate. Also, it is not as comfortable to ride as some of its rivals.

Pros & Cons of TVS Raider 125
Should I buy the Raider 125?
The TVS Raider 125 is made for premium city commute buyers. It has a very young & aggressive design that makes it stand apart from its rivals. It is also the most feature-loaded bike in the segment with technology like LED lights, riding modes, TFT digital screen, engine start/stop, & Bluetooth connectivity. Its engine is also very smooth to operate & the easy handling helps in day-to-day traffic riding. We recommend it to buyers who want a modern 125cc bike that has a reliable & fuel-efficient engine.
- The design & outlook of the Raider 125 is its strongest point. It looks very good on the road, especially in bright colours. The overall appeal of its design is for young buyers who want a modern bike with the latest features. We love the X-shaped LED DRLs at the front. Also, the LED taillight looks good in the dark. The quality of the materials used is also typical TVS; meaning it is very good and rich in texture. The fit & finish of the panels is very neat on the Raider 125.
- The features list on the Raider 125 is very long. TVS has ensured to equip the Raider with all features that make it segment-best in this category. It has LED lights, a digital instrument console, riding modes, Bluetooth phone connectivity, a USB phone charging socket, an aluminium brake & clutch levers, etc. All of these features are useful to the rider on the go.
- The most important part of a commuter bike is the riding comfort & position. The Raider 125 has a semi-aggressive position. The handlebar is tilted towards the rider, the split seats (on the top variant) offer very good cushioning, & the footpegs for the rider are set a bit towards the rear. Thus, the sporty character is evident in it while riding. But, it is not uncomfortable by any means. However, if you compare it with rivals like Honda Shine, the Raider 125 feels sporty to ride.
Raider 125 body specifications:
Seat Height | 780 mm |
Weight | 123 kg |
Wheel Size | 17 inch |
Fuel Tank Capacity | 10 liters |
- The engine performance is another positive highlight of the Raider. It is powered by one of the most powerful 125cc engines in the segment. This engine is very responsive to ride. Also, TVS claims that it is the fastest bike in its segment as 0-60 kmph is claimed in just 5.9 seconds. It does feel fast for sure but you’ll have to keep it above 2,500 rpm. Below it, the bike feels a bit sluggish. The 5-speed gearbox is delightful to use as it is slick & has short travel. Out on the highway, it can easily cruise above 80 kmph without any struggle. The top speed that we saw in our test was an indicated 97 kmph. Overall, this engine is sporty to ride.
- The braking of the Raider is not as strong as its performance. The front petal disc brake feels hard to use and requires effort to operate. The rear brake is a drum unit and there is no ABS also. However, TVS offers a combined braking system on it that makes the braking a bit relaxed. But, we’re not satisfied with the brakes of the Raider 125. These could’ve been more confidence-inspiring.
- Fuel economy is another area that the 125cc buyers look forward to. The Raider delivers a claimed mileage of 67 kmpl as per ARAI testing. But, in our tests, we were able to achieve more than 55 kmpl inside the city. This means it is a fuel-efficient bike and it can deliver upwards of the claimed mileage as well.
- The suspension of the Raider is better suitable for tarmac riding. It gets a telescopic set-up at the front and a monoshock at the rear. It is a comfortable suspension overall but on sharp bumps and very bad roads, it doesn’t feel happy. The sporty character of the bike results in a bumpy ride on the bad roads. But, on the smooth roads, it feels very calm & composed.
- Handling the Raider is very delightful & extremely easy. The lightweight of the bike mixed with a low center of gravity and sporty riding position makes it super easy to handle in tight traffic. Also, around the bends and curves it remains confidence-inspiring in the handling department.
- Safety-wise, TVS has equipped it with a CBS (combined braking system) that automatically uses both brakes even when only the rear brake is pressed.

- PNPalani N26 Jun 20253.6The riding experience is smooth and enjoyable. Overall, it’s a great value for money. I'm getting a mileage of around 52 km/l, slightly less than the company’s claimed 57 km/l, but still decent. The seat is very comfortable, and the silent start feature is impressive. Light visibility is average, and there's some vibration when riding above 70 km/h. Still, it’s a well-balanced bike for daily use with great comfort and performance.LikeReplyRead more
