Last Updated on 24th Jan'25: The MG HS PHEV made its India debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 and received a big thumbs-up from both the media and the general public. Its modern design and outstanding combined range of over 1000 km made it stand out from the other vehicles. As of now, there is no information regarding its launch in India, but we speculate it will be launched by 2027.
Design: The MG HS PHEV is identical to its pure ICE counterpart and boasts a striking front end with a large grille featuring sharp chrome design elements. Even the LED headlights have a sharp angle to them, and at first glance, one can immediately tell that it is a Chinese vehicle. Other details of the exterior include 19 Inch diamond cut alloy wheels, aluminum roof rails, and all LED tail lights with connected LED DRLs.
Powertrain: A 1.5L turbo petrol engine paired with a 21.4 kWh battery delivers an impressive 339 PS. In EV mode alone, this SUV can travel up to 103 km. Additionally, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.8 seconds. Lastly, according to the official MG site, the combined range of this car exceeds 1000 km.
Features: The official MG site mentions that the HS PHEV is packed with two 12.3-inch screens - one for the driver and one for the infotainment. It also features a wireless charging pad, electronic parking brake with auto hold, Level 2 ADAS, a power tailgate, dual-zone automatic climate control, and electrically adjustable front seats.
Talking about safety, the MG HS PHEV comes with 7 airbags and has scored a 5-star rating in the Euro NCAP crash test.
